This film was the first of many cuban documentaries to highlight the problems faced by Cuban skateboarding and has since helped inspire many skateboard companies, filmmakers and even newspapers such as – The Guardian to highlight and contribute to the cause.

“A modern subculture collides with the lingering effects of the Cold War as Cuban skateboarding faces a unique struggle—getting access to skateboards. Due to long-standing U.S. trade sanctions, these skaters are cut off from the gear that fuels their passion, forcing them to navigate an environment  where simply obtaining a skateboard becomes a challenge in itself.”

The film was produced inn 2007 as Phil Brown’s final peace at the University of the West of England (U.W.E), with the help of Editor – Ross Gill.  The film was successfully premiered in the U.K’s most prestigious doc film festival – Sheffield docsfest and has since garnered massive online success across multiple platforms.
